Symbolic Phonetic Representation

Symbolic Phonetic Representation is a method of expressing the phonetic symbols which are supported in the LumenVox TTS synthesizers. There are different ways of expressing each phonetic symbol depending on the chosen alphabet, which is an optional attribute of the <phoneme> tag.

LumenVox Synthesizers support only two types of alphabets: ipa and x-sampa. Each alphabets’ phonetic representations are defined in the Symbolic Phonetic Tables referenced below.

Please refer to the following tables for appropriate phonetic representations based on the voice language and TTS engine (TTS1 or TTS2) as required
